We offer feedback on pre-existing search strategies created during the exploratory phases of a project when you are learning about a new topic. Search strategies that are part of evidence syntheses or that require a formalized review process, such as systematic reviews and PRESS, may be referred for more in-depth review, available through our Systematic Review Service.
We can provide suggestions to improve:
- Specificity (narrowness)
- Sensitivity (breadth)
- Controlled vocabulary (such as MeSH)
- Choice of research databases and grey literature sources
- Identification of print sources
- Use of appropriate filters
- Documentation of search
To request a review of an existing search strategy, please use our Publication Services request form.
If you require assistance compiling and retrieving resources or conducting literature reviews on your behalf, we recommend consulting our experienced librarians at reflib@qatar-med.cornell.edu.
